What is PMU?PMU stands for Permanent Makeup. It's a cosmetic tattooing technique used to enhance facial features such as eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips by implanting pigment into the skin.
-
Do I need a patch test?Yes. A sensitivity patch test is required at 48 hours before your treatment. This helps determine any allergic reaction to pigments or topical anesthetics.
-
What happens during the patch test?A small amount of pigment and anesthetic is applied to your skin and covered with microporous tape. You must monitor the area for any signs of redness, swelling, or irritation. If there's no reaction after 24 hours, the treatment can proceed.
-
Will the procedure hurt?A topical anesthetic is applied before and during the treatment to help numb the area. While it reduces discomfort, pain tolerance varies, and some clients may feel slight discomfort.
-
Can I wear makeup to my appointment? Please arrive with no makeup on the treatment area, as makeup removal may delay your appointment time. Feel free to bring reference photos of how you like your brows—this helps us tailor the shape and style to your preferences.
-
What should I avoid before my appointment? No aspirin, ibuprofen, or alcohol for 24–48 hours prior Avoid caffeine the day of and day before No sunbeds or direct sun exposure 2 weeks before No brow waxing or tinting at least 48 hours before No botox/fillers around treatment areas 2 weeks prior For LVL and HD treatments, avoid fake tan, retinol and acids in skin care.
-
Can I get treated if I have a medical condition or allergy? Some medical conditions or medications may prevent treatment. You must fill in a medical history form beforehand. Always check with your doctor if you're unsure. If you’ve had allergic reactions to anaesthetics, dyes, or pigments in the past, please let us know in advance.
-
What are the aftercare rules I must follow? All aftercare will be discussed during your appointment. PMU Keep the area completely dry for 10–14 days Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treated area No makeup, creams, or sun exposure on the treated area Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and tanning Keep hair away from the face to prevent infection No exercise that causes sweating around the area SMP No wet for 5 days No sweat for 5 days Avoid scratching No exercise that causes sweating around the area LVL HD Keep dry and avoid steam for 24 hours Avoid oils to keep lasting results No makeup for 24 hours Avoid heavy creams for 24 hours after treatment.
-
How long is the healing time?Initial surface healing takes around 10 days, but it can vary. Full results and pigment settling may take 4–6 weeks. If you're feeling unwell, healing may take longer.
-
I had permanent makeup before. Can I still get a treatment?Yes, but we need to assess the previous work. Please provide details such as the area treated and the date. A consultation will be required before booking.
